Mathematics
Mathematics is learned using concrete, tangible materials (e.g.:
cards, bead bars, geometric elements) and a hands-on approach. For
example, the decimal system is introduced using beads and cards and
children recognize units, tens, hundreds, and thousands. Once they
are comfortable in their knowledge, they perform an exercise known
as The Banker’s Game which involves addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division. Through numerous other exercises, the
children’s mathematics knowledge and abstract thinking is
reinforced, always with sufficient variants to sustain interest and
challenge the students’ inquisitive minds.
